Experience authentic Palestinian-Jordanian cuisine with a modern, sustainable twist. Share, enjoy, and care for our planet!
On Saturday the 2nd of May, we are closed the full day (due to family circumstances)
Hatoeta is the Arabic word for "Story." With Hatoeta, we aim to share our stories. Central to this story are two elements โ looking back and looking forward:
We celebrate the Palestinian-Jordanian culinary heritage of our grandparents. Many dishes are shared in this tradition, making Hatoeta a โsharingโ restaurant. It's best to order 2-3 dishes per person, but of course, if you prefer a plate for yourself, that's perfectly fine.
We actively pursue a low environmental impact. How do we do this? For every choice we make, we take sustainability into account. For example, our menu includes around 1/3 vegan and 1/3 vegetarian dishes. Why not completely vegan/vegetarian? Based on our own experience as vegetarian, it's hard to convince non-vegetarians to eat in a vegetarian restaurant. With our sharing concept, almost every table contains vegan/vegetarian dishes and we let our food make its own argument! In addition, as food waste has a large impact on the environment, we measure and take measures to minimize it. Other sustainability measures we implement: a large amount of reused furniture, equipment, pots and pans, ... If you are interested in our sustainability strategy, stay tuned because we still have a lot of plans (e.g. calculating sustainability scores for our dishes, reusable packaging (already available on demand), a transparent sustainability report, ...). And if you have ideas how can improve this aspect even more? Feel free to speak to Guinevere, our sustainability manager!
